Preparations are underway for the Swedish very large-scale demonstration that will include the first official autonomous intercity flight in Europe performed by a drone. It will follow a 52km long flight corridor between Linköping and Norrköping and will last around 25 minutes, taking off from a suburb and landing at an airport.

The demonstration, which is part of the CORUS-XUAM project, will take place in October 2022, and the Swedish demo project team is working together with municipalities, their experts in urban planning, digitalisation and transport, and three air traffic service units on addressing various challenges related to establishing the flight corridor.

The take-off will take place next to a military airbase and visitors will greet the Katla Aero drone at its arrival at Norrköpings kommun airport.
